Liberty is now 3 months and it’s time to get back into fitness and get my body back! It was recently in the shower when I looked down and couldn’t see my vagina again! This time it was hidden by my ‘mum tum’! To be honest, the ‘newborn baby’ diet hasn’t been the best for me as often forget to eat or when I do eat, its anything with sugar in mainly chocolate sponge pudding (1 1/2 mins in the microwave – Winning) however about 900 calories per tin!
As I am still on Maternity leave and gyms which have creches in Harrogate are £70+ per month, I am going to start with changing my diet by registering with slimming world and enlisting Charlotte Crosby and her belly blitz workout to help get me back into shape! Obviously I need some new workout clothes and trainers to help motivate me … Sports Direct here I come.
I will keep you posted – Starts on Monday (always start on Mondays right?!)
Following on from creating my Visual Birth Plan, you may have noticed that there were two plans which needed to be referred to separately, these being:
- Special Requirements – After birth care plan
- Breastfeeding Plan
After the Perinatal mental health meeting, it was noted that a plan needed to be created for my aftercare once Liberty is here to ensure that if I am showing any signs of either postnatal depression or postpartum psychosis, then I can get the support I need quickly. Also a plan would need to be created if I was to breastfeed following on from further research relating to the whole lamotrigine in breastmilk situation where I am able to still take my medication and how much transfer into my milk is kept to a minimum.

So at Week 36 the countdown has officially commenced! I have finally written my birth plan (sorry meant preference) So here goes:

With Liberty being naughty on Monday when we had a scan in London, Ultrasound Direct allowed us to have a rescan for free even though I am classed as too far along! Went to their York clinic today and they tried so hard to get some more pictures but she is still being naughty! #likemotherlikedaughter managed to get another picture, see her yawn and see that she doesn’t just suck her thumb, she puts her whole hand in her mouth!! God I love her! #hellodaughter
With all the drama planning for the what ifs around my mental health when Liberty arrives and whether my meds would cause issues when it came to breastfeeding, I haven’t actually been asked what kind of birth I would like. Before I was pregnant I would joke saying that I was too posh to push and have my labour booked in and plan my labour around my life. I would want the baby to come ‘out of the sunroof’ if you know what I mean as no way I would want to it to come out of my V. The thought terrified me! So it was time to ask myself what kind of birth I actually wanted.
Having no clue, a colleague at work suggested a book which was the ‘NO BS’ book to pregnancy, birth and the early days which would cover everything I wanted to know and all the things I hadn’t even thought of! The book was called ‘The Positive Birth Book’ by Milli Hill.

People have asked me many times whether we were going to take a break just the two of us before Liberty arrives. Apparently there is a trend that expectant parents do before child birth which is referred to as a babymoon! This means having one last relaxing/romantic holiday as a childless couple. It is almost bittersweet! You get a reason to go on holiday however it will never be the same again! As candlelit dinners and ‘do not disturb’ turns into Bottle feed and Bedtime stories at 7pm.

Sorry for the delay, had a week full of appointments from meeting with my psychiatrist to meeting a family outreach worker part of the prevention team, the health visitor meet and greet and then therapy, Aquanatal and then just to top it off, I had to have a root canal at the Dentist #FML
Due to my mental health issues, I was referred to the Perinatal Mental Health service in Leeds for an assessment. It understand why as the Perinatal Mental Health Service provides specialist input to women experiencing significant mental health difficulties during pregnancy and the first year following a child’s birth.

Naughty Liberty! Treating my insides like a pinball machine and kicking me in the back constantly for 4 hours! She literally would not stop moving (like her mother when she is trying to watch a film) Don’t worry I’m okay! Needed to be on the heart monitor machine for an hour as she wouldn’t stay still enough to get a consistent reading! Thank god for the amazing people at the Maternity Assessment Clinic for monitoring Liberty to ensure she is okay! So worried to call the clinic in case I was panicking for no reason but that is what the service is there for! So if in doubt, call!!! Here’s to more physio and stronger painkillers! 🤰🏻🤕🥊 #pregnancyproblems🖤
I am 6 months pregnant but I look about 8 months as Liberty seems to be growing at a super fast rate! With this, my body is feeling the pressure and have experienced cramping and tummy pain. So bad in fact that I had to go to the Maternity Assessment Clinic to demand that someone let me hear my baby to check she was still there!!! Reason for being so dramatic was that as my placenta is at the front cushioning all the movement and then feeling pain, panic takes over!

Trying to find some humour in the appointments I have had to go to for Liberty, today is my Glucose tolerance test and have to wait 2 hours and not allowed to do anything requiring energy so letting my Husband push me around so we don’t have to sit and wait in waiting rooms!! Fingers crossed that the results are okay 🤰🏻🤞🏻 #glucosetolerancetestdone
